Who is eligible for assistance?

Blossoming Butterfly provides support to women who:

  • Are currently undergoing treatment or were recently diagnosed with breast, ovarian, or uterine cancer.
  • Demonstrate financial hardship due to the impact of treatment.
  • Reside in one of the following counties: Bradford, Clay, Columbia, Duval, Gilchrist, Marion, Putnam, and Union.
  • Provide the required documentation to verify diagnosis and financial need.

What types of financial assistance are available?

We offer assistance with housing (rent or mortgage) and utility expenses, subject to available funds.

How do I apply for assistance?

To apply, you can complete the application form on this page or visit our office to apply in person during business hours. For our address and office hours, please visit our Contact Page. If you need assistance, our team is happy to help.

What documents are required for the application?


Applicants need to provide:

  • Proof of cancer diagnosis: Medical documentation or a letter from a physician.​
  • Proof of residency: Lease agreement, mortgage statement, or a recent utility bill.​
  • Proof of financial need: Income verification or assistance statements.​
  • For housing assistance: Billing statement and contact information of the landlord or mortgage company.​
  • For utility assistance: Current or outstanding utility bill and contact information of the utility provider.

How long does the application process take?

Once a completed application and all required supporting documentation have been received, an applicant will be contacted by phone within 24 hours. During this call, they will be notified of their approval status, the amount of assistance awarded, and any next steps.

How are payments processed if approved?

Approved payments are made directly to the landlord, property management company, mortgage lender, or utility provider—not to the applicant.

Can I reapply for assistance?

Assistance is provided as a one-time payment per applicant.
